THEY GO TO PARIS! Led by coach Jérôme Guth, Japan’s fencing « sabre » women team is qualified to run for for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games this summer. It promises to be one of the iconic moments of these games: the competition will take place in Paris Grand Palais.
CCI France Japon seized this opportunity for an exceptional evening on April 10. You will meet coach Guth and 2 of his best athletes for a fencing demonstration. This will be followed by a talk on sports and business, run by veteran newscaster and author Florent Dabadie.
After Tokyo 2020, Japan ended up 3rd, with a record 58 medals (27 in gold). Yet such achievements did not turn into many business opportunities. Bar a few exceptions, companies & athletes do not cash in on Japanese victories.
107 days before the opening ceremony of Paris 2024, the April 10 “warm-up” will allow us to assess the chances of Japan and the situation of its sports business.
