1974年大阪生まれ。灘中学・灘高等学校、東京大学理学部数学科卒業。同大学大学院数理学研究科修士課程修了。エコール・ポリテクニーク留学中にゲーム理論に出会い、数学から経済学に転向する。シカゴ大学経済学部ではロジャー・マイヤーソン(2007年ノーベル賞)指導のもと2009年博士同取得。同年よりエコール・ポリテクニークにて教鞭を取る。専門は集団的意思決定理論で、ゲーム理論、実験経済学、行動経済学を用いて社会的意思決定メカニズムの分析、とくに投票理論の研究に取り組む。フランス、アメリカの他ちゅうごく、南アフリカに在住し75カ国に滞在した経験から、広い視野を持ってより良い民主的意思決定理論の発展と実践を目指す。趣味の大合芸ではピーター・フランクル氏に従事し、これまで38カ国で大道芸を披露した。
Born 1974, Osaka. Graduated from Nada Junior and Senior High School and the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Tokyo. Completed a master's degree in mathematics at the Graduate School of Mathematics at the same university. During his studies at the Ecole Polytechnique, he encountered game theory and switched from mathematics to economics. He obtained his PhD in 2009 from the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago under the supervision of Roger Meyerson (Nobel Prize 2007). He has been teaching at the Ecole Polytechnique since the same year. He specialises in collective decision theory and uses game theory, experimental economics and behavioural economics to analyse social decision-making mechanisms, particularly voting theory. Having lived in 75 countries, including France, the USA, China and South Africa, he aims to develop and put into practice better democratic decision-making theory from a broad perspective. In his hobby of street performing, he has worked with Peter Frankel and has performed in 38 countries.
