Alberto Alemanno is a Professor of European Union Law at HEC Paris, holding the Jean Monnet Chair. He is also a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo.

He regularly contributes to public debate with articles in Le Monde, Politico, Bloomberg, and The Guardian.

A former référendaire at the Court of Justice of the European Union and a lawyer at the New York Bar, he holds LL.M. degrees from Harvard Law School and the College of Europe, as well as a PhD in International Economic Law from Bocconi University.

He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the European Journal of Risk Regulation (published by Cambridge University Press), a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Consumer Policy, and the Review of European Union Law.

In 2015, he was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos.
