Sylvain PierreCEO and Founder, Le Wagon Japan

Sylvain Pierre left France for Vietnam in 2006 to co-found Officience, a French business process outsourcing company, with two other associates. After growing the company to 300 people, he decided to change its management model in 2014 to embrace a flatter, more open structure. He gave a TED talk about this in 2015 in Paris.

In 2016, he moved to Japan to launch the Tokyo franchise Le Wagon, a coding bootcamp for entrepreneurs and creative people. In seven years, they grew the local community to over 8,000 members, expanded to Kyoto (October 2018), launched a new Data Science program, and have trained 800 aspiring developers and entrepreneurs.

Sylvain is a business books and TED talks enthusiast and a fan of Seth Godin, Clay Shirky, and Frédéric Laloux. Curious about the latest business and social trends, he regularly shares his opinions on innovation, globalization and organizational transformation on his blog and on X (formerly Twitter).
