The main building of Meiji Kinenkan(Meiji Memorial Hall, also known as Constitution Memorial Hall)was constructed in 1881 at the Akasaka Temporary Palace as a reception and dining hall to receive dignitaries from overseas, and as such it was the first State guest house in Japan. In 1888 it was designated as the venue for the Imperial conferences held in the presence of Emperor Meiji to deliberate and draft the Constitution of the Empire of Japan(Meiji Constitution)and the Imperial Household Law, and the Emperor attended all of these meeting without missing a single one. It was subsequently named Constitution Memorial Hall and was used exclusively for events and ceremonies relating to the Imperial Family. It was not until 1947 when it was renamed Meiji Kinenkan (Meiji Memorial Hall) that it was opened to the public as a wedding ceremony venue for Meiji JIngu. We provide one-stop support not only for weddings but also for the ever-increasing MICE demand.
