Talk Event to Commemorate the Reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris with « Notre-Dame de Paris : l’exposition augmentée » x BONJOUR FRANCE 2024

Join us in celebrating the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral with BONJOUR FRANCE 2024!

Miraikan will hold a special talk event to commemorate the reopening to the public of the World Heritage site on December 8, 2024. In addition to real-time video footage from Paris, the event will feature guest speaker Yoshiyuki Yamana, Professor of Architecture at the Tokyo University of Science's Faculty of Science and Technology, who is an expert on Parisian architecture, who will talk about the history and architecture of Notre Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.

The venue will be the exhibition hall of the special exhibition “Notre-Dame de Paris : the augmented exhibition” currently being held from November 6, 2024 (Wed) to February 24, 2025 (Mon). This exhibition opened in Japan at the special timing of the reopening of the cathedral to the public in December 2024, and has been visited by many visitors every day.

Visitors will be able to experience the exhibition using the “HistoPad,” a dedicated tablet device, and gain a deeper understanding of the history of the cathedral and how it has been brought back to light through the latest technology and techniques.
