After studying foreign languages (English, Japanese, etc.) and international negotiations, Sandrine Mouchet became involved in economic and commercial exchanges between France and Japan. She joined the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999 and worked in several departments, including the Asia-Oceania Directorate, the International Cooperation and Development Directorate, the Human Resources Directorate, and the Crisis Management and Assistance Center. Later, she gained overseas experience in the cultural and cooperation section of the French Consulate General in Guangzhou and in the political section of the French Embassy in Canberra. From September 1, 2020, to August 31, 2023, she served as the French Consul General in Thessaloniki, Greece, and as the Director of the French Institute of Thessaloniki. He also spent one year in Japan.
She is now the Consul General of France in Kyoto since September 2023.
